UPDATE

Obviously, 2008 came and went and there was no reunion. It was Vernon/Rockville's 200th anniversary and I got to march in one of the three parades.

I have changed email addresses - so ignore the blogin@charter etc that I gave some time ago. Use connyank63_symbol_for_at_gmail.com.

Let's plan for 2013 - that will be the BIG 50!!

Choosing a "Vehicle"

I've been thinking about some websites/services for organizing a reunion. I looked at Classmates today and it looks like everyone would need to pay a little to be a member. I was not impressed, probably because I could not see much and I don't think everyone would want to pay. I'm am going to put that one aside for now. Many people had registered names there, and I will include them here in the hope that those people would be attracted to this blog and email me. It looks like graduation names were used - that is, maiden names for women. But here are the names I found:

Richard Allen
Natalie Champ
Yvonne Doiron
Roland (bama) Gilmore
Jean Goddard
Lea Gordon
Nancy Grotheer
James Hazen
Melvin Horne
Russell Johndrow
Richard Lawrence
Jeffrey Marvonek
Donna Mason
Sandy McDonald
Jim McNulty
Karen Olsen
Kenneth Peterson
David Plummer
Allan Rudd
Lynn Russell
Andy Sebula
Dianne Skinner
Charles St. Pierre
Michael Sullivan
Betty Vittner
Susan West
Cheryl Wettstein

Eventually I'll get a full list together, but this may attract some responses now.

News - August 20

Started trying to organize some things. Emailed an old contact at Quality Inn in Vernon about special rates for Reunion visitors. Tried all the email addresses of the graduates I did have - there were three. Two of the three have come back as dead ends. This includes the only other one besides mine on RHS's alumni page. Bob Bittner is no longer webmaster so I'll need to email the school and get that corrected and maybe put in a plug for this blog.

Why this?

Rockville High School (CT) - Class of 1963 - I don't think we had a 40th class reunion. If we did, I and some others missed it because we weren't notified. For 45 years, which is also the 200th anniversary of the incorporation of Rockville, I would like to be part of a reunion and the bicentennial celebration. So I have begun this blog to either connect with reunion organizers or promote organization of a reunion from my distant location. For the time being, since I've only begun, you can leave comments on this blog or email me at blogin(the symbol @)charter.net.
